Four-time world champion in two weight divisions Orlando "Siri" Salido (44-13-4, 31 KOs) will face off against fellow Mexican warrior Miguel "Mickey" Roman (57-12-0, 44 KOs). The exciting 12-round junior lightweight fight will be held on Saturday, December 9 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Boxing professionally since the age of 15, the 36-year-old Salido has competed against numerous world champions and top contenders. Notably, in 2014, he took on current champion Vasyl Lomachenko and held him off in a brutal 12-round victory decision. In 2016, Salido appeared in the memorable and grueling "Fight of the Year" that resulted in a majority draw. Salido hopes to bring the same sparks to the ring in this fight.

The 31-year-old Roman had compiled an impressive 19-bout winning streak until he faced the Japanese fighter Takashi Miura in January earlier this year, which put an end to his run. Roman followed up this disappointing loss with a 12-round knockout over Nery Saguilian. Now, Roman aims to keep this positive trajectory going.

"Roman is a good fighter, but honestly I don't care who is in front of me," said Salido. "I always come to fight; this is no exception. I'm rested and ready for another fight."

"The fans will not be disappointed when I get inside the ring with Salido "I'm going to knock him out," said Roman. "I'm preparing for what could be a tremendous test with Salido because he is a tough fighter."

Preceding this fight will be a match-up between Tevin "American Idol" Farmer (25-4-1, 5 KOs) and Kenichi Ogawa (22-1-0, 17 KOs) for the vacant IBF Junior Lightweight World Title.

Opening the event will be a match between former WBC World Super Featherweight Champion Francisco "El Bandido" Vargas (23-1-2, 17 KOs) and Stephen "Swifty" Smith (25-3-0, 15 KOS).
