In the highly anticipated bout, consensus #1 Pound-for-Pound Fighter in the World and WBC Flyweight World Champion Roman ?Chocolatito? Gonzalez, (45-0-0, 38 KOs) dominated undefeated WBC Super Flyweight World Champion Carlos ?Principe? Cuadras, (35-0-1, 27 KO?s) on September 10 at the Fabulous Forum in Los Angeles.

The Nicaraguan native ?Chocolatito? took a unanimous decision victory against his undefeated opponent after a brutal 12 rounds, winning a World Championship in his fourth weight class.

Gonzalez delivered a powerhouse performance early on, pressuring his opponent with a fierce offence and his trademark fast footwork. By the 4th round Cuadras was putting on a stronger defense, but not enough to shake up Gonazalez.

In the middle rounds, Cuadras was on fire, delivering tough and creative shots on his opponent, while Gonzalez kept up momentum on his end.

By the later rounds Cuadras was fighting with a bleeding cut above his right eye, and Gonzalez?s face and eyes began to swell. Both fighters were constantly throwing punches and combinations, turning up the heat towards the end. Both men gave everything in the 12th round, delivering a spectacular show as each man tried to close out the fight.

Despite a well-matched bout, Gonzalez won the ultimate decision victory to claim the WBC 115-pound belt.

?Gonzalez is relentless. He never gets tired,? said Cuadras, ?? I hit him more tonight than he?s ever been hit, and he kept coming. His defense was better than I expected.?

Of the victory Gonzalez said ?Thanks very much to all of my Nicaraguan fans for their support. I could hear them chanting during the fight. . . . This victory is for Nicaragua. For the people??

In co-main event, and rematch of their fight in April, Yoshihiro ?El Maestrito? Kamegai, (26-3-2, 23 KO?s) dominated Jesus ?Renuente? Soto-Karass, (28-10-4, 18 KO?s) with a TKO victory in the 8th round.
